Passport cover color and size unchanged
"Thirty-Six Scenes of Fuyue", one of the works of Ukiyo-e painter Katsushishi Hokusai in his later years, belongs to the "famous painting" in Ukiyo-e, which depicts the scenery when overlooking Mount Fuji from various parts of Kanto, Japan.
"Thirty-Six Scenes of Fuyue" is not only the representative work of Katsushika Hokusai, but also the leader of many works depicting Mount Fuji, enjoying the reputation of the highest masterpiece of Ukiyo-e prints.
The following figure shows 24 works selected from "Thirty-Six Views of Fuyue" given by the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
It is worth mentioning that "Kanagawa Surfing", which is used on the reverse side of the latest version of the 1,000 yen banknote, is one of the representative works in "Thirty-Six Views of Fuyue.
The new 10-year passport uses 24 works from "Thirty-Six Scenes of Fuyue" and 16 works from the 5-year passport. In addition, the passport strengthens the function of preventing unauthorized reading and tampering with personal information in the IC chip.
Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the specific date of issuance of passports varies from region to region, depending on the situation in each region.
